ran into that with an old 460
wouldn't sell single pistons (direct from speed pro)
forgot what I done with them but I ended up never buying another set of speed pro pistons again, except a used set of BNIB NLA 2.3 Lima turbo pistons I got last year, with the rods already pressed on. Couldn't beat the price.
speed pro is cheap stuff, and it is cheap. Heavy too. Mismatched sometimes. Those old 460 pistons, 6 of them were 975g, one was 998, and ONE was 952. That's why I called to find one that was 975 range, lot easier to remove weight from two than it is to remove weight from 6 to match the others, and that's a lot of weight to take out of a piston much less 6 of them. Makes balancing labor cost more, potentially.
