Bob- I tried it last night. One connector fit in the back , but no sound came out. I wonder if it was related to my mustang haing the "premium" 45W sound system (oh booy!) as I didn't try attaching the little amp and likely had a few missing connectors to make that all happen.

I'll likely install a cheap stereo into this escort and just be done with it. One day I'll install something into the stang as well. For now it just takes up the hole well. Who needs a stang stereo when you have such nice rumble! ??

I'm headed out of town for a couple of weeks on business. New England next week and Cinci for the following week. Still try to keep in touch here a little.

Hey thanks Jeff. Had a pretty good birthday with the gf.

A ricer cut me off doing 70 mph on Kingston Pike this a.m. I think he was trying to race me. Watch out for the mad tight Honda Civic, yo!

Looking for a used Fox Body 5.0L in NE TN!!

Does anyone know of someone selling a good condition Fox Body 5.0L in the area? I have a buddy here at work that loved driving my coupe and he'd like to build one up too. Prefers not having to do lots of body/ paint work, so he'd like one that is in good condition already. Engine and mechanical work is more up his alley, but he'd like to be able to drive it from the get-go too.

If you know of one, please give me a call and I'll pass it on to him. 423-620-9838. He's not picky of it being a coupe, hatch or 'vert. Just a good looker. Prefers an AOD, but is ok with a T-5 as well. Doesn't want one all supped up all ready as he'd like to do that himself, closer to stock ideally.

Thanks guys!

TnTurbo-

Have you ever tried Amsoil POWERFOAM? It does just that. Spray it in with engine running- have to goose the throttle to keep engine running typically. Whole can. Let it sit 15 min- 1/2 hour. Then drive it clean- takes about 2 min. If engine was gummed up, it'll blue smoke like you've never seen for those 2 min. If it is clean, you'll see a whisp of white smoke and you';ve wasted your $6.

I'd try this before you take it all apart.

I do this to all my cars about once each 6 months. Works like a charm.

I've run seafoam through it a couple of times and it helps, but it would definitely help to clean them by hand as my car runs some oil through it.

Steve Rife, the wheels Goodson is referring to are exactly like the ones on your car.

I could get you stock rims as Jeff suggested. I'll try to work on the price. Do they have to have tires? If you're interested I can get a set of steeda ultralite wheels with hoosiers that have 20 laps on them for $750. The hoosiers are an open track tire. The 20 laps were done on an 03 cobra at road atlanta. Jeff you might be interested in those. That's over $2000 in wheels and tires.

Bob, can you give me a call about them? I am at work till 10pm. I am supposed to go in the morning and possibly buy some Cobra R rims, your deal might be better. Also, Steve is looking for track rims and I believe no tires would actually be his preference. No sense paying for something you don't need. FWIW, Kar Kraft sells brand new rims with the factory Goodyears for $649.

I've seen the seafoam, but fwiw, the Amsoil sprays in like thin shaving cream. Coating all surfaces. And like Engine Gunk cleaner, the oil just dissolves and runs down to be burnt away. Really works like a charm and I've never seen anything else work like it.

Good luck! WIsh I could be there to help.

The ultralites/hoosiers sound like a great deal, but i've already got a set of 9" Cobra R's to play with. I'm looking for some 8 inchers for some F Stock autocrossing.

Jeff is right about no tires being my preference.

Jeff and I might run down to look at the ultralites. After talking to him and giving him some details he determined that the wheels were ultralite II's and the hoosiers were the old style with one groove. If he does not buy them and I have room, I'll bring back a set of stock wheels if they are less than $200 and you can look at them.

Steve, I picked up the wheels today. I am going to get the digital camera from work tomorrow. I should have them uploaded here to my gallery for you to look at. I am located in west knoxville off campbell station road. Easy to get to. I could not get them any cheaper than $200. They are in great shape and I got the centercaps too. They do have tires on them. Not great tires, but I think Jeff wants to talk to you about that. I'll post tomorrow afternoon with pics here on the corral. I can post on HPT if you lurk there more often.

That 351w got sold, Bob. Darnit. oh well. Crisis appears to be averted for now. Saturday night, I developed a loud clacking noise, we figured a rocker was coming loose. Tore into yesterday and the rocker over the exhaust valve on #3 had rotated off the valve, leaving it shut. The stud had come loose, but the threads on it and inside the head were fine. Very weird. However, the pushrod ended up being a little jammed between the lifter and the block/head. We got it loose, checked everything for bends/damge and all was good. John and I re-tightened all the rockers on that side and everything seems good now. Whew!

The heads were already assembled. Me, John and Bob set the rockers up originally. I want to say that there was a note with the heads saying the studs needed be torqued down and I think I remember doing that. We retightened those two studs over #3, probably should have done them all but we re-tightened all of the rockers to the correct lash etc on that side. I'm going to pull the cover again in a couple of days and make sure they're still ok. When I get time I'll check the other side.
