i was given a 3 core griffin aluminum radiator and it has no where to bolt on my stock shroud for now so i was gonna buy an autozone electric fan but i would have to use the stock shroud. does anyone use a similar set up if so what did you do.

If it is the 31 x 19 Griggin , I recommend the Ramchargers fan..I use this fan on my Car and it cools Unbelievably..The Mark 8 fan would also be a Great fan that pulls Alot of air but it is HUGE and takes some Rigging to get it to work properley..Most guys that have the Mark 8 Swear by them though..

Will the shroud fit at all? Non Mustang specific radiators will not have the mounting holes. I havethe 31x19 Griffin radiator. If the height is correct, just drill small holes in the upper and lower lips and use small bolts.

I used a Taurus fan with mine, made 2 brackets from 3/4x1/8" plated mild steel that run from top to botom of radiator. Here's a pic of the finished instal.

Tons of people love the Mark VIII fan but it might be hard to find one. Although I'm sure plenty of people on here can point you in the right direction. I have a Proform 15" Electric Fan on the way (exact same as the Flex-a-lite Black Magic Fan, just marketed under a different name) and I'm looking forward to it, it should run nicely :). I like how it comes with a built in thermostat to tell the fan when to turn on, and the wiring to hook it up to A/C or a manual switch is all standard on the fan. If you want that functionality with the Mark VIII you have to buy additional stuff and you better like to wire stuff together :).

I have the griffin "nascar" rad I assume you guys all have the same one as I do the one that looks like $500 but only cost 180 from summit? If thats the one we are talking about I use two auxilary fans from a eagle talon they are 13in each and fit perfectly between the tanks which are 26" apart. i just used the pull through zip tie kit and it keeps my motor cool no matter what.

I have a griffin nascar 31"x19"aluminum radiator with 1 and 1/4 inch cores (2 row) and I use the ramchargers fan also... it was the only fan I was able to get to fit with my superchargers seperately driven crank pulley. That pulley is huge and my black magic fan wouldn't fit for anything. I even hammer and drilled and sawzalled and nothing I tried would make that damn POS fit. By the way, those who refer to the Black Magic fan as a Black Tragic are so right. That thing wouldn't cool my car and I have a SWEET cooling system on a 488rwhp motor and jet hot coated headers (dropped my underhood temps by 40 degrees according to my thermistors mounted under the bay in various locations). The car went up to 250 degrees IDLING in the shade on a 90 degree day with the POS Black Tragic fan... I hate that fan. It only works if you car is under 300rwhp.. It works fine on my daily driver, but on my track/street car it will kill your engine...
