nice setup doc thanks for the pic addressing the coolant situation. do you have any closer pics of the intake setup?

that is in the kitchen LOL better lightning for pics ;) thats my story anyhow

im not sure if i should send it back in hopes of getting a better 2828 or start welding the thing up the runners and trying to move things to where they need to be...???

is the chi 4.0 just as bad is this really just how it is???
if i could shift things one way or the other then i could work with it but its off in both directions
Actually... I do have pics in the kitchen...

Dont send it back, at this level they all need a ton of work. I spent money having the CHI port matched, and we still had to mill it a little bit more to make it sit right once the gasket was put in place. Word of advice on the intake gasket, make a paper template and send it to cometic and get a custom gasket made. They are stupid cheap and you will never get a better gasket. The CHI sucks for hood clearance, i am going to have mine milled down about an inch so i can get an air filter back under the hood. I have a hole in a 3.5" hood right now.

That water crossover is designed for a cleveland head, to make it work you would need a 90° NPT fitting with the hose barb on the other side which are not possible to use on these intake because they cannot be tightened down without the hose barb crashing into the intake runner. I tried that option and it didnt work.

when i was mocking up i noticed my arp intake bolts are too short for this manifold id like to get some good studs. anybody know what the proper length is?

I used studs and my engine builder milled down the intake where the bolts go through because the studs were still too short.

Sorry to tell you .... But that Trickflow kit works just fine. Some a/n fittings and line,....it's done. That's what's on my car. Ps, buy the American made intake

AN fittings and line would defeat the purpose of buying a kit and spending 140 dollars on just a thermostat housing, and it would still have the coolant running uphill from the thermostat which i was trying to avoid. Thats more money spent on a setup that is inferior to what i ended up doing. I am really glad it worked out for you though.

Wasn't saying yours was inferior to mine I gave the op my opinion, and you shot me down. I have no way near that much in my set up. Also the water doesn't run uphill on mine. Next time I'll ask for permission to post. Also if you'd like to match whits ,... I'm game

I'm done......

HEY!! dont #### on my thread theres some good info being shared here id apreaciate it if you could put it back in your pants if not take it someplace else like the mens room at a rest area or where ever you normally do your comparing... now back to the 2828

The 2828 is very raw. I spent a lot of time working it over. The runners are very thick and have plenty of room to shape them. I spent a little more time inside to put more taper and open up the corners. You can also see how I got around the coolant crossover issue. It was pretty easy to fab up.

Here is the final product along with some work in progress shots.
