ok, I am tryin to tighten up my suspension and steering by reinstalling a front sway bar that the previous owner removed. The problem I have is that the powerdyne supercharger(cheezy but came with the car,) required a alternator relocation, which puts the alternatior right in the way of my new sway bar. My fox still has functional A/C, so that place wasn't an option. Now as I return the sway bar that I have that doesn't seem to fit right, I am wondering if there is anyone that ran into this problem and found one that will work. Dont know if I compounding problems hwere either. Vehicle lowered 2", powermaster 1 wire alt, and sway bar hits the terminal. Anyone help please????

hits the terminal? You should have the room, but if you need to get it out of the way, reclock teh alternator...

???

What exactly do you mean reclock the alternator? If I can use what I got it would be great. But with the little moving I did of the alt, didnt seem to help..

no.. I know what wrote.. lol

reclocking means you unbolt the front from the back and rotate.. this will bring the terminal that you say is hitting away from teh bar..

alternators are specified with terminal clock positioning... you can rotate it a little bit.. maybe like 12 to 3... I tihnk the Ford alt is like 11oclock positioned..

Just make sure when you do this you don't pull the front and back halves apart, or you'll have to put the brushes back in and that's a PITA.

good point.. and make sure you have a correct sway bar.... My S trim doesnt put the alternator near the sway bar....

The brushes are cake, just seat the brushes and hold them in place with a small nail, wire, allen wrench, whatever you have, just like they come when new. Once you have things buttoned up, pull out the pin to let the brushes contact.

Ok, reclocking the alternator didnt help, and the maximum motorsports relocation kit did not help. sway bar is still hitting on alternator upon attempted install. Can not figure out what I am doing wrong. For info, vehicle has 2" lowering springs, supercharger relocationg alternator to lower pass side, and has aftermarket/ dealer installed A/C and smog pump still installed. Any more advice before I just return the sway bar and give up? PLEASE Help here..

remove smog pump...

ok if I pull out my smog pump, which is doning nothing with offroad h pipes, will the alternator fit into the mountings. I thought for sure that wouldnt fit due to the alternator being so much larger..

confused....

Well, I was running out of time to return pieces for refund so I did, and will have to reorder when figure it out. I talked to tech at maximum motorsports, he told me that the powerdyne supercharger mounting brackets are the problem. According to him, because the mounting brackets put the alternator so low, it happens. He said that it doesnt seem to be much of a problem on other superchargers, but that doesnt really make sense to me. Anyways, anyone else have pics of a powerdyne setup with sway bar? curious to see if it looks like mine did....

There are swaybar spacer brackets to move it down. You can use shorter endlinks to keep the bar on the same orientation though im not sure they are required.

Different end links fixes it. You’ll have to measure what works best for your car. Also make sure the sway bar is centered, and the main bushings are in good shape

Don’t know if this helps but on my coyote swap I had to use sn95 mounts to drop my sway bar low enough to clear the oil filter and A/C compressor…the sn95 sway bar brackets are longer than the foxbody brackets and will let it set lower. They will bolt directly to the frame rails where the fox mounts were.
