it keeps the oil from coking up in the center housing which leads to blown seals. oil gets coked up in there from running the car hard then immediately shutting the car off without a proper cool down period. its a good thing to use if you have it

 

I have it as well on my Comp Turbo and noticed that underhood temps have dropped signficitanly even after about 10 dyno passes...

 

I was wondering the same thing. I was looking at tapping in between the heater core return and where that line normally connects to the water pump. Anything wrong with this?

from that pic it looks like his oil feed and drain are nearly horizontal. maybe its just the pic? i hope so because the turbo wouldnt last too long with it positioned like that

you can also tap into the upper and lower radiator hoses to feed the turbo's coolant ports

 

it's just the pic...there is a slight angle but I use a scavenge pump as well...

 

off topic but is that how that belt is suppose to run in that pic?? thats a long stretch from the alt to the power steering

 

looks like there should be a longer belt used and have it run up under that idler pulley in the middle

 

I can't..when I tried a longer belt, it nearly touches when placed under the idler...so this setup works..

 

If the turbo has water ports,you should really use them. Reason is cause the bearing housing was designed for coolent to cool the housing and not oil. What will happen is the bearing housing will over heat and cause the turbo to fail and blow the rings out (seals) or distort the compresser shaft.
