94s did not have it. First came out on the 95s

Yea I think 94 was the only year the Cobra did not have an SVT emblem (even 93 had one), and yes they continued in 1996 with the emblem. I think that is the only way tell the difference between a 94 and 95 Cobra is the emblem.

don't forget the lower rocker panel behind the front tires. 94 was straight across, 95 had the 90 degree bend. of course this applies to all 94-95 and later mustangs.

oh and my buddy has a 95, 90 degree rocker bend and all, but no svt emblem. weird..

 

A few 94s had the SVT emblem. I asked around at the SVT Experience a couple of years ago in Dearborn and some of the people there with 94s had added it, some never had it , and a few of us had it from the factory. Mine has it and had it from the factory. I have pictures of the car being delivered to the dealer, and a rear quarter view shows very distinctly that it was there.

 

I have a 94 Cobra and mine has the SVT emblem on the back also. Also, the Cobra written across the bottom plastic in the back is mystic(changes colors from different angles). I was told that 95's came with this but 94's didn't. What's up with that?

 

94 didnt have svt on trunk! i put it on my 94 cobra

 

Out of the five '94 Cobras I know of locally, none came with the emblem from the factory (although mine's the only one left that doesn't have one, everybody else has ordered one from PPI, etc. and stuck it on).

If the bumper says anything but "mustang" then it was added by someone.

HaHa! Maybe I'm subconciously bitter by all the people coming up to me at gas stations and grocery store parking lots accusing me of being a poser? Horse in the front, no SVT rear emblem, no Cobra rear fascia. I guess the factory Cobra spoiler just doesn't do it for the average public's knowledge to I.D. it.

 

I used to hate the people calling me a poser but I dont care now... I know what it is, and its still fun to drive regardless of what the general public thinks it is.

 

Mine came with one when I bought it. I have seen quite a few 94's without them though.

Didn't you recently buy that Cobra clone? I remenber a guy selling it. He had the Roush wheels and then went to the Bullitts. If so, why did you sell it?

 

I bought the car from Viperblue. It is an awesome car. He sold it ebcause he wants a 96+ cobra or a 99+ Gt. At least what he told me.

 

Yes, i'm searching for the right 96-up Cobra or a cheap priced 99-up GT, seems all the ones I find are 20 hours away.

the VIN can confirm the status of the car. i have a 94 cobra too. no svt emblem, straight rocker panels, mustang on the rear facia, the same hood as the gt.
i get "experts" telling me my car in not the real thing. It has only 8000 miles and i purchased it new. got all kinds of paper work.
I send the "experts" to VIN files!
little things..like cobra stamped serpentene belts, hoses, cobra stamp on the brake booster,,etc can be duplicated. but who can find the parts? it's getting hard to find them for the real thing now!
the real clue is the strut/spindle fastener assembly. way bigger on a cobra than a regular mustang. wonder how many fakers try that level of change?

 

That's when the window sticker comes in perfect. They can't deny when the VIN and window sticker with "SVT" real big in the corner gets whipped out, works everytime. Then they have the most "I'm a dumb a$$" look on there face followed by a "that's just what I was told from a somebody that knows a somebody who knows about Mustangs", lol.

 

Another thing I noticed about 94-95 Cobra's. Some of them came with the Cobra's backwards. Mine was that way. I have also seen a lot of pictures of other Cobra's with the snakes backwards. I then took it back to the dealer and had them switched around.

 

Which way are you calling backwards? Mine are facing the rear of the car, and just about every authentic 94+ Cobra I've seen was this way. I think. Maybe I'm blind. It seems like they are that way. 93's have the snake facing to the front of the car. I've seen a few poor clones that had 2 of the same emblem- one to the front one to the rear.

 

Actually the 93's are the only cars i've seen with the snakes facing the rear of the car, all the 94-up cars i've seen had the snakes facing the front, as does mine.
