So im doing a twin turbo carb conversion on my sn95, I have been looking at the dakota digital vhx cluster on summit, as always on summit things like this have an instruction sheet you can download, looking at that, I realized that ill have to wire my head lights, turn signals, pretty much everything to this cluster as any other cluster would have, but it brings me to this, is it really worth it? Are any of you running the VHX model on a sn95? It seems like a complete ASS PILE of wiring involved.. also, I see where it has speed input and output wires, I thought our speedo was cable driven?? Any insights on this would be greatly appreciated before spending $900 on something I wish I never got involved with. Thanks guys.

I Had the VHX in my foxbody using Dakota digitals OBD 2 tap.

Worked great with minimal wiring and it will for your obd2 SN95 as well.

I have the Dakota in a Fox. I use their GPS module for speed. The wiring isn’t hard as long as you label everything end to end. I believe the included instructions detail the wires on the OEM side, can’t remember of the top of my head. I was able to ditch my stand alone oil pressure, water, temp etc gauges since it’s all output on the Dakota. You can even hook up a shift light if needed. Last, I run the Holley ECU and opted for the Dakota over the Holley LCD screen. The Dakota looks period correct but with modern technology.

I don't like Dakota dash. The way wires are screwed down into their controller is a garbage design especially when you consider the price. There should be crimped connectors. They make a nice gauge set for my f100 but i refuse to use their products until they modernize their connections.

for those Holley EFI users. a Holley EFI interface exists much like the obd2 one.
