I love the Boyd Coddington SMOOTHIE II wheels, but when I search for them on the internet the only finish I find is polished and I was wondering if you can get them in chrome. Polished wheels are hard to keep up from my experience and don't look as good later on down the road. Has anyone had experience with these wheels? Did you think they were hard to keep looking good?

Thanks,
Cameron

I'm looking into the same rims. 18x9 in the front, 18x10 in the back (with a nice deep dish). Only thing I have found is polished or a gunmetal finish. Would like to know what people think, fitament issues, and where the best prices are.

Personally I've had my polished R's since 2000. They were looking real cloudy and I took some mothers polish and a buffer wheel on my drill and presto, new again. If I liked the rim, I don't think I would shy away from the polished finish, Plus if you scratch them, just sand it out and polish it back up.

Does Bonspeed sell boyds? I looked and didn't see any boyds or Smoothie IIs on the site. I've got my mind made up on the rims I want, just trying to find information on the boyd rims.

No they don't...Its just anohter Billet option, thats all...

Another guy said he was quoted $1770 for a set of Boyd Cod wheels...IMO that is a Bargain for ANY custom billet wheel. That is right at Jobber pricing which is ALOT less than MSRP.

BTW..It looks like a Bullet Replica to me...Or at least very similar.

you are right, they do look similar to the bullet replicas.....but everyone and their brother is starting to get those. (alot like the cobra rims). At least with the boyds, I will have something not everyone has (even if it does look similar).

The $1770 seems high. I can get them straight from Discount Tire Directs website for $310 each 18x9 fronts, $323 each 18x10 rears. That is only $1266 for the rims without tires....

The only thing I can think of is the 4 lug.....all of boyds stuff at that price is for 5 lug, so maybe its a custom 1 off job for that setup as compared to the 5 lug option....don't know
