Are the B springs 4 or 6 cyl springs or just plain lowering springs? Are the right spring choice the most important part in a good launch or a combination of all the parts?

How streetable are all of your setups also?

This is an excellent thread.. Up until know I had never heard of B springs..

My 4cyl fronts seem to be great but I will definitely keep this in mind as well.

Does anyone know the specifics on the B springs.. Like the spring rates etc?

B LOWERING SPRINGS

Ford Racing springs are an affordable and perfect choice for lowering your Mustang.Spring Rating: 425/530 lb./in. front - 200/300 lb./in. rear Lowers car 1.2 inches front, 1 inch rear Fits all 1979-2003 Mustangs

They are very similiar in rate and ride quality to stock Cobra springs, just lower. IMHO the perfect spring for a car that sees a lot of street miles yet still wants to kick some a$$ at the track. I drive my car EVERYWHERE with my set up. I love having the lowered, not slammed look and I can still clear speed bumps :)

Quick...

I'm definitely interested in these springs... How is the handling without the sway bar installed? If you have driven your car like that on the street?

I wonder what the spring rates are for my 4cyl springs?... I like the setup I have now, but it seems like this might be a better route since it's a combo of street and strip..

The C springs have the some rate in the rear as the B springs do. Wouldn't this be the same thing if I were to replace my stock ones with either one of these two. The C springs are cheaper.

The C's are specific rate, I think thats why they are cheaper then the B's which are progressive.... I am seriously considering swapping B's in for my H&R's which are murder on bad roads....

What is the difference between the two??? What kind of H&Rs do you have now?

I have put a lot of miles on mine without the sway bar. In corners the car will tend to lean over a bit before it turns. This is VERY noticable with stock springs, far less so with the Bs but you do notice it. I actually just put my sway bar back on about 2 weeks ago and I do notice a tighter feel in turns for sure....

I have driven many drag oriented suspensions and they get to be after awhile on the street. About 2 years ago a friend and I happened upon an autocross and decided to try for fun. I had B springs, tokicos, and Cobra Rs with maximum upper and lowers and no sway bar up front. My tires for a bit chewed in the front but the car did suprisingly well. A sway bar would have made all the difference in the world there. My friends car lol he had no sway bar, Eibach drag springs, 90/10s and 50/50s, and stock 98 Cobra wheels. Seeing this vortech Cobra on an Autocross with a drag suspension was one of the funniest things I have ever seen in my life...it was so soft he could lift the rear outside tire off the round in hard corners and he completey destroyed his front tires lol whats amazing is that his car would never 60 ft as well as mine did and I had a good all around suspension setup....After that I was forever sold on B springs...

Thanks for all the info you guys I appreciate it Im sold on the B springs Quick are you runninf a bump steer kit, and ball joint or anything like that

Definitely thanks for the input!

The 4cyl fronts are definitely soft but they just might be too soft.. It would be nice to have a spring upfront that I can depend on. The B springs seem to be the way to go.

Here is another visual from the track. You can see the obvious difference in the launch of the 2 spring setups. Nothing else on the car changed between pics. 301rwhp/284rwtq 4:88 gear 7000 rpm NA launch. I do not have a bump street kit. IMHO the B springs are not low enough to need it

Here are the GT springs....Looks cool right...This was a 1.73 60 ft time which is poor for my car. Thanks to Kelly at www.digitalracecraft.com for the pics

This is the B spring. Looks boring but went 1.59 60 ft. I have seen SVT CAMRs car launch and it leaves very much like this although he seems to get a little more front end lift.

I dont give a bleep about looks just times that is cool thanks Im sold thanks for all of the help. So some B springs tokico rear 5 way shocks some tokico drag struts steeda upper and lower control arms black bushings and my steeda subs should be it correct. Thats not that bad at all if Im correct.

Quicksnake..

I can't remember.. Do you have a Anti-roll kit on that car?

Also.. You wouldn't happen to have any video of these two runs on mpeg would ya?

My launches look identical the second one of yours with the B springs..

I did not have one on the car in those pics. I have all the B spring runs on video from a different angle but I have never made them into mpegs yet....

Do you guys think that Diversified would be will to sell just a rear set of B springs? Do you guys know of any place that might be willing to do so?

No they won't....They only sell complete sets of springs. At $139 a set a whole set is not really much more than a pair of normal rears....What sucks is that I just threw away my old B rears a month ago. I has switched to coil overs and threw away my original B fronts. I could not find a pair so I bought a new set.....had no use for the rears :(

URDONE..

If I bought these springs I would only want the fronts...

PM me and we can talk about it when you get serious. I'm not sure if I am going to make the switch anytime soon though.

That sounds like a good idea to me. I only want the rears. When do you want to do this?
