Im building a 351w stroked to 418 and running a hydraulic roller cam. I was dead set on a set of AFR 205 heads, but I came across a set of avengers on here but wrong cc. I searched there site and at .650 lift the avenger flow around the same numbers as the afr 205s and are $350 cheaper. anyone running avenger 230cc heads on a small block ford? I have dish piston and was planning to run the 58cc 205s. avenger said they could do 62cc. any help appreciated.

If you are looking for a budget head you can always go with RHS 215. they used to be an Australian company (pro topline) before getting bout out by comp cam.

The 215 will slightly out flow the AFR205 on the intake up to .600 lift. But the AFR will outflow the exhaust. but you are looking at over $400 savings. Or you can get them bare and put better hardware in and still end up being cheaper.

I havnet had my car to the track yet but there is a guy that posts here named shifter that runs a set on a 363 build that runs 9s na.. so the potential is there..

That's my buddy Lou, he lives a couple miles away from me.. he does have the RHS 215 heads but his are ported by Mike Curcio from MCRP, milled about .070" and have titanium valve spring retainers and set up for the solid roller cam he spins to 7600rpm, so they are far from out of the box but like you said they do have good potential although he has quite a bit of cash invested in his...

What brand carb does everyone recommend. I haven't actually payed for the holley 750 yet. A buddy of mine has one he said he would sell. I found a preform 950cfm race carb forsale looks pretty new for $450

My buddy had a holley hp series that worked really well and he loved it. Street/strip setup. Reasonably priced. Lou tells me the Demons work well too. Again, I don't know much about carbs. Maybe pro systems and quick fuel and such are on "the next level" compared to what I'm talking about..maybe I'll just STFU and listen lol
