408 carb jetting???what you got??

i got a 408w was wondering what size carb you running and what jet size??thanks for your help....and also if you have power valve still in it??what brand too. o heres my combo...408 W,,victor jr heads .2.05/1.60,,cam motion cam soild roller nos grind 264/274 @.050 .701/.688 lift 112lc..1.72 rockers stud girrdle,,4340 eagle crank 4.00 stroke,,eagle h beam rods 6.250 long,,srp flat top pistons= 12.5 to 1 compression,,super victor intake ,,750 holley d/p ''for now'' msd 6a box and dist , and timing controller,headman race headers into 3in flows,,lt. weight ft. k member, ft coil overs,rear south side bars uper and lower,air bag in rt. side,,alum d/s/,,tko trans,center force dual fiction ,,pro 5.0 shifter ,with adjustable cable,,out back got 8.8 rear with 31 spline moser axels,,ford tract-lock diff,,8 pt roll bar,,hi toque starter,,00 battery cables,,optima red top batt.streetable stiil got a/c/,,p/s,,and ''some power brakes''havent run this motor yet!ran 10.59@130 with milder 351w 60 over with 175 shot..

holley 870 street avenger, 78 front...84 back...a/f at 12 .2 , a little rich, but safe

ok im the thread starter here so let me tell you what i got ,,750 holley #4779 got 4.5 p/v. 74/80 is that to lean...im fixing to run it and dont want to run lean i got a 150 shot on it right now....??what should i jet this carb to fellows...with out messing with the air bleeds...im going to get another bigger carb soon but just want to run about 4 times total..till i get diff carb,,,its hard to see if iam running lean with the race gas...plugs look leaded color????go back to top and see my combo..thanks for your replies...

you really don't need a bigger carb...just about everybody runs a 750..it figures out with the formula, so it'll handle the cfm's. whatever you do, don't mess with the air bleeds. you might go a little bigger on the jetting, but with mine, it's rich. black sooty crap all over, but i'dd rather be safe than sorry. my a/f on the dyno was mid 11's. good luck
