Hey all, anybody seen this done? I have heard rumors of a few cars, searched here, haven't seen anything. I have an 03 GT, and a buddy with an 05 is contemplating a FRPP 5.0 swap and would cut me a hellacious deal on his old 3v longblock. 305hp>260hp, if it was alot of mostly plug and play, locking out cams and a drive by cable throttle body, it would make an interesting and unique swap. I'm pretty much stock right now so I wouldn't mind buying headers, tuner and a TB/plenum setup as I was planning that for the 2v anyway. How much more potential does the 3V offer in terms of just bolting on a blower? That would be phase II, then I'd leave it alone.

The 3V motor is a best with a blower. It is much better in every way to a 2v motor. The only reason why they are not that much faster than our cars is because of weight. I have ridden in a KB 3V and it was a monster. Just think even with bolt ons you will be making so much more power than we ever could.

Man I'd love to hear from someone who has done it. I've heard rumors of a couple local ones but nothing concrete. I wonder if anyone makes conversion plates like the 5.4 2v to use the 4.6 2v intake on a 3v? If that was possible it stands to reason there would be very little in the way of making it work other than locking the cams down.

prettiest mod motor is either a B-headed 4V or an Aussie 5.4 4V
i understand its "different", but there are other ways to do that. Come up with a unique combo and not only will it be easier than a 3V swap, itll be faster too.

and i agree with Ben... 3V being better in every way to a 2V is so far from the truth.

Mine will be prettier than a stock boss260 though. I've stripped the wrinkle finish off the intake because it was scratched up, but I'm going to redo the plenum, lower intake, valve covers, and timing cover in wrinkle black, use the powered by ford coil covers, a polished t/b and maybe some polished pulleys, and red fuel rails. It's gonna be a sexy engine, just gotta figure out how I'm going to rout my intake to make it look right on the drivers side. I'm going to have to move the battery to the trunk or the passenger side and cut a hole in the drivers side inner fender to run the filter inside the fender. I may run the maf inside there too, just looks cleaner that way.

Here's more or less how it's currently sitting though.

MMR sells a whole kit to make the swap from 2v to 3v easy as hell! On their turbo furums u can find where they swqaped the 2v from a saleen prototype to the new 3v saleen motor using the 2v computer a 3v motor the mmr lock out and oil pass blocking plates and a throttle cable system that they sell. I would deff contact MMR if u are serious about the swap at all. they have done it a few times and it worked out great for them.

Thanks man, don't know if you've been following my thread or not. I've got forged internals with flat tops going in, MHS port job on the navi heads which flow the best of the 4vs after porting, slightly modded boss 260 intake, custom aggressive cams made for 6500-7000 rpms, completely new return style fuel system, and probably 125-200 shot of giggle gas all in the works. Only thing currently on hand is what's seen in the pic, a tubular k, and my lightweight I-beams, mahle pistons, and a couple misc things I've picked up. Car will be more or less a brand new car when it's done.

I'm mostly focusing on fuel system right now. Trying to get my gas tank back in the car to clear some space in the garage, and get my trunk all cleaned up with new carpet.
