I love my mod motor car, but WHY? IF you are going to put a mod motor in a fox, wouldn't you WANT to put the 4 valve in? The 2 valve isn't that much better of a motor then the 5.0 and the 5oh is a much easier swap (assuming you are starting with a 4 cyl).
When it comes to the basic swap there is no difference between 2v and 4v, you just have to get the right harness that goes with the motor. As for going with the 2v, cost could be a factor, I'm going with the 5.4 2v swap, gotta love the torque those motors make.
you'll need a new k memeber. there is one in mm&ff for 600 and some change not sure exactely it sets the engine back allowing for the mod engine to be installed. you'll need all your harneses from the current engine comp on down. alternator will need to be added also starter can be easily wired in. the best thing to do is get all the wiring from the donor car as humanly possible. they will fit your car for the most part with only minor mods. i'm thinking you'll need a new cross memeber for the tranny but not sure exactely might be able to reuse yours with only minor mods thats one of those things you'll find out when you get there. maybe that will get you started on the things you'll need to do.
I like the idea, be different. A few years back there was a silver fox coupe, with a blown 2-valve. I think Joe Charles maybe was the name? May check into it, if I think about it when I am home I will look it up and see what info was in the article.
stick with the 2v do something different. and hopefully what i said earlier was informative not claiming to be an expert but i've done a few swaps none along this line but maybe that will get you started. and i'm sure if he wanted to do a 4v swap he'd have bought one and asked in the 4v forum instead of the 2v forum.
not trying to flame lol just kinda gets old i'm doing something post it on here alot are like go 4v but noone handing me the cash to pay for it so oh well lol.
yeah i have an 02 2valve motor, harness, and ecu thanks to blown02 and was trying to get some info on swapping it into the 87 does anyone know about how to get around the anti-theft in the computer?
To get past the pats system on all mustangs you need the pats module the original key and ignition. The ignition doesn't have to be installed just put it all together and tuck it in the dash with the sensor. The only other option is to have the pcm flashed without pats.
i talked to a company named detail zone and they told me they could program the ecu to get around the anti theft and so i can use a normal fuel pump but the want like 400 dollars and i have the stock 02 fuel pump
