Like the title says, which motor oil and weight do you use?

More specific for a blower car?

Lets hear it.

+1 But not for the first time. I'm an Amsoil dealer. What car are you driving and what is the suggested weight for your area? Synthetics don't break down like traditional multivis- oils do. If I were sporting a power adder, I'd definitely be sporting some kind of synth. oil. Also, the clearances of a mod motor are much tighter than that of a 5.0 pushrod motor. So a multi vis with a 5w- is probably recommended, as opposed to a 10w- or heavier in a 5.0.

i use 20-50 in the stang, porsche and bike. it has been really good to me in the florida heat. when the stang was a race car i used 0-30 mobile synthetic. i went to the castrol 20-50 and the oil seems to hold up better in the heat down here. doesnt break down as easy. others will have different oppinions as everyones needs, experience and preference are different.

Now that we're over 100*F (lows of 70*F), I'll be swappin to 20-50 myself.

My simple rule is to run the least viscous oil that maintains decent pressure in all conditions (normally hot idle is when it is the lowest). I haven't seen a reason to go against this idea (unless blowby or something else is occurring and a bandaid is needed). I am old school and like thicker oil (partially due to my living in a hot climate and 302's getting the motor oil surprisingly hot. This is where a cooler or some of Bat-stang's juice can help out).

For guys running the boutique oils (or even if not), a UOA is never a bad idea at all. The knowledge gained can save you some cash (Extended OCI's).

Good luck.
