Bolts are 7/16-14.

I put locktite on mine since I have solid mounts.

 

The correct torque will change depending what grade of bolts you're using. If all of the threads are in good shape King Kong would have a tough time stripping them.

 

a chilton manual should have it, on my mod motor it was 22-33 ft-lbs

 

30 lb-ft with blue loctite should work just fine.

 

Ah, well I did 50 ft lbs with red. I guess I'm fine then!

 

Those bolts are rather large, 50ft.lbs. would be very good for them. The torque spec are based on bolt size mainly.

Check out a cam plate retaining bolt. Those are grade 8 and about 1/4" in size. Those can easily be twisted off, they only need about 8-10ft.lbs. I believe.

Finger tighten them with threadlocker

Tighten it up till it strips, then back it off 1/4 of a turn...

Medium tight with a 1.2" drive.


Had to fix that.

Milwaukee impact driver with a 10in extension and U joint seems to be perfect torque lol

 

...my shoulder 'pops' at about + or - 53 lb/ft of torque so ya, that's good...
