i have my block .030" over allready. it will need bored out due to too much clearence, is .040" for a 331 stroker kit leave the walls too thin? would i have to upgrade h20 pump etc.....

It depends on your block casting. Some are thicker than others depending on the cast of your particular block. However, .040 is about all your going to get out of most late model 302 blocks.
As they said -- no one except a competent machinist can tell you what's safe --- AFTER he's checked the wall thickness on each cylinder of your block. The stock thin walled castings were notorious for core shift --- .030" may be all you get out of it; others have more. You tell us what happened...
