the e7 is up under the head, it should face towards the lifter valley when they are on the motor, thats where ive found the casting numbers...but i dunno this is my first ford ive dicked with

 

Hmmm, I could have sworn they said E7TE on top but it's been years since I actually had E7's off and examining them. The intake ports looked bigger than I remembered E7's having but who knows, I dont wanna pull the heads but might have to, to see wtf these are.




After looking at pics, the E7's have the big CP on top too. I dunno, something about these heads didnt remind me of E7's but they might be. Also looks like the E7TE is under the head in pics, maybe I can get a mirror under there or something, gotta find a small mirror first.

My guess is E7's possibly at this point, just remembered seeing it on the top of the head on my 89 LX, maybe I didnt? I must be getting old.

 

The casting number is on the underside of the head between the pushrod holes. You could see it with a mirror and some light .

The 2J10 and 2H29 are the casting dates for the heads.

They look like run of the mill E7 heads to me. Mine had the same red markings on the springs, dunno why the factory paints them like that.

 

Yea, looked awhile back with a mirror, forgot to post, they are E7's. I havent had a set in my hands in about 4 years. I just thought I remembered the E7TE being on top. Must be the old age setting in? lol
