you need to find out what your crank is balanced to man... if its a 28 or 50 internal or external

I assume that the only way to tell for sure is to take her apart and see what I have.

Most are balanced to 28, but there are still a few that balance them to 50. I would call the previous owner and see if they can tell you.

The guy I bought the car from is not the one that did the engine job, it was an owner or two before him. There is nothing else I can do, but just take the flywheel off and see what it is...right?

I love my Fidanza Aluminum flywheel. It can be run 28,50, or 0 balanced.

 

I see. Yeah, I guess take off the flywheel and see if there are any markings on it. Otherwise you're going to have to take the flywheel to an engine shop, or maybe even a driveline shop, and see if they can check the balance for you.

 

take a look at the harmonic balancer. Way easier to get at and it should be marked/stamped with the weight.

x25 on the aluminum flywheel. Don't listen to the retards on here who've never even seen an aluminum flywheel much less driven with one. If you can swing the money it's well worth the price unless your car spends 99% of the time at the drag strip. In that situation buy an automatic anyways.
