According to most ford listings, a 289 coupe is approx. 2850 curb wieght

 

Whats a 65 drum brake 289 convertable weigh?

 

convertables generally run about 150lbs more than a comparable coupe.

 

i have a 66 and when it was bone stock it was 2770 with 1/4 tank of gas. no spare tire or jack tho.

 

i've heard the coupes are about 2800lbs., and the fastbacks are more like 3100 or so...
i love coupes because they wheigh less, they have more structural integrity, and their more stable at high speeds. (the fastback was built to go faster, but the coupe has the trunk the push it down)
i was suprised to hear the '69 boss 302's only wheighed 3200.

 

I weighed my '66 coupe a couple of years ago and it was right at 3000 with a 1/4 tank of fuel. It has steel wheels, Boss 302 shortblock and a toploader in it.

I have access to a scale and I weighed my car a couple weeks ago and it
2871 lbs. Mine is a 66 coupe I-6 ( the six is being dealt with) but to make up for the weight of the six I have a currie nine inch that has to add about a hundred pounds so that should make up for the engine weight.

Be careful with that setup, I'd be afraid of breaking that 9" with that hi-po torque monster

 

My '65 V-8 weighed 2850 lbs. before I gutted it and installed a cage. After throwing away most of the interior and adding the safety equipment, it now weighs 2850 lbs.
