Valve stem seals for GT40 heads?

Valve stem seals for GT40 heads same as E7TE heads?

Are the valve stem seals for the GT40 heads the same as the E7TE heads? I need to replace just the ones in my #5 cylinder and I still have some valve seals from when I bought the whole head gasket kit set. Or are they different? I went to Pep Boys and they said they where the same but autozone.com has different part numbers for them but it could be because one is just for intake and exhaust and the one for the cobra year has both intake/exhaust. Thanks.

Oh yeah, beside renting out a spring compression tool do I need any other special tool to install the valve stem seals? When looking at the ones I have they seem to have a metal ring around them that you can compress. Thanks.

Get the seals used on P heads. Ask for seals for a 97 or newer Explorer with a V8. Those seals are made by Viton, they are very good. I used them on my E7's too so I assume they'd fit your 40's.

The 2 ford seals are:

F2TZ6571A
E8AZ6571A

I don't remember which is intake or exhaust, but your dealer can tell you. As far as installing them...I gave them to my machinist when he did a little work on my heads.

the seals are the same as on a e7te.

Get the Explorer seals from the P heads. Nice pieces. FelPro SS 72683. You'll need two sets.
