Well...a supercharger...or maybe a turbo...or maybe a supercharger...no, a turbo...oh, I can't decide!

decisions, decisions

I have had several of both and here is the deal. With a turbo, you make more TQ than HP but with a charger you make more HP than TQ usually. The Charger is MUCH easier to install, specially if you already have headers, heads, gears, etc...it is a much better compliment. A turbo system will build boost in the lower RPM band depending on size and will hit Peak boost usually before 3000 RPM on a street car where a Charger will hit peak boost AT peak RPM. You could go REAL FAST with either one really, it just depends on which PAIN you prefer. I know guys that are running 9s on a charger in a street car, and guys that are running 9s on s Turbo street car. The charger has its issues like; belt slippage is a pain in the ass, makes a whinning noise, some require you to change the oil, non-intercooled blowers get hot, etc.... Turbos have their issues' if you buy a kit usually a little more expensive but not much, requires ALOT of piping which may interfere with plug accessibility, and if the wastegate gets stuck shut YOU WILL BLOW YOUR motor when it hits 25PSI::p :p :p

Slocal94, HOW MUCH FOR THE X PIPE?

Oh, my two cents, turbo vs charger, well kb charger - instant
cent charger- boost with rpm, turbo - build with rpm

oh, on my kb, I got more torque than horse power, it is awsome to drive on the street.

Done both. Centri blower easy install and cheap, relatively. Easy tuning. Good power, very consistent, reliable, low-stress fun.

Custom twin turbos, difficult install, challenging tuning, broiling underhood temperatures, wickedly unsubtle sound and power, a grenade waiting to go off.

Given the choice, I'd go with a positive displacement blower, screw type, as they don't bull**** around with compressing air in the volute, the way turbos and centri blowers do. They provide gobs of air at atmo and, as such, aren't constricted by needing tons of rpm to produce boost, have good flexibility with pulley changes, and don't turn the head unit into a big heat sink.
