Anyone ever done this with paint and have it turn out good? I don't want to use overlays or anything, just want a "natural" darker look like the darker headlights for the New Edge cars

Also, my 3rd brake light is scratched up and hazy, I've fixed a lot of it with a dremel polisher but the scratches are deep. Can this be fixed with some paint/tinting color? Anyone have any good experiences or pics?

My car is black, so the darker the better to match as far as the 3rd brake light goes, and the reg brake lights just a bit darker, not to attract police attention :D

Thanks guys!

i spray tint all of my tail lights on all my vehicles. I dont like them super dark, just a nice smoke. I use nite shades and then clear coat and buff.... looks factory and come out great. If i remember ill take a couple pics when i get home.

I haven't done the brake lights or the side lamps on the rear bumper, but did have the third brake light done by a nice guy on SVTP. I'm not good at aesthetic stuff, just like the engine/drivetrain/suspension stuff, and since I didn't trust myself I got mine done. Here is how it came out, this is with (I believe) VHT and polishing :
