... wiring.

I'm reduing the wiring in my '66 coupe. I'm getting the painless kit, a trunk mounted battery, and a remote starter solenoid. What i would like to do is make a larger aluminum glove box insert and install my MSD 6al, fuses, and solenoid inside my glove box for easy access. I can't think of a reason it wouldn't work, and it would clean up my engine compartment nicely...

anyone do wiring? any advice? any pictures of clean engine compartments? thanks a lot ;)

no reason it wont work. i would however recommed that you use wood instead. 1/8" ply wood works real nice. as for teh trunk mount battery, good idea just use 00 welding cable to run the power and ground from the battery to the starter solenoid to avoid any power supply problems.

I used one of the Taylor trunk mount battery kits from summit.

It uses an alluminum battery box and fit real nice.

I need to move my msd digital6 box inside the car also.It is not recommended to be inside the engine compartment as many people do (like me) and I think poor grounding and/or bad mounting locations may be why people have msd box failures.

I am dedicating all of my spare time trying to finish my fastback, so the msd on the coupe will have to wait:(

Heat is what kills the MSD boxes, they are electronic after all :D

I have my battery in the trunk in a plastic marine box with 2ga wire.

I thought about moving the solenoid but that makes it tough, if I need a 12V source at the front for a timing light or electric fan and what not
