I have an 88gt, stock t-5 and 4.10s, and 28x10x15 Hoosiers, the front struts are 90/10s, no sway bar and the rear has UPR adjustable uppers, Hotchkis lowers, and the Eibach drag launch kit with 2 air bags (8psi on pass side, 0 on drivers side as it sits now)....I cant get this thing to 60 ft to save my life

The car is set up for nitrous, and I have run a best of 12.4@111 NA, best 60ft was a 1.79

I sprayed for the first time this weekend, and went 11.04@128 with a 1.62...it just doesnt seem right...is there something I should know? Or where should I start adjusting?

I was kinda expecting to be in the 1.6s NA, and high 1.4s to low 1.5s on the bottle (150 NX shot) Thanks in advance

On the NA runs it hooks but doesnt bog, and I was launching at 3k, slicks were set at 12 cold

On the nitrous run, the slicks were set to 12 hot, 3k launch and it blew the tires off. We ran out of time before we could make another run, but with the air bag set now the car lifts straight with little/no twist.

I cant really see these parts being in-effective, but I cant see running 8lbs in the tires to get it to hook, lol. Oh yeah, I have 50/50s in the back too

I just read your sig...Ill be checking those sights out too, thanks!

12 psi seems like a lot to me. In MT ET Drags 10-10.5 psi is fairly normal with cars running that much HP. IMO, MT's seem to hook more consistantly than Hoosiers and a lot of people have switched from them to MT's with better results. There will be people who disagree but this seems to be one factor I always end up looking at.

I would try air pressure adjustments first before being too worried about anything else. With 128 MPH your 60's should be in the low 1.4's high 1.3's depending on combo.

After watching the vid the rearend looks VERY stiff for some reason. Given the suspension components I would expect the rear to squat just a bit (which is a bad thing) but the rear doesn't move up/down even on the shifts.
It spins instantly and you have good front end lift so I would look at tire psi, track prep, new tires and the stiff rear suspension issue.

I'm not saying it IS stiff it just looks like it. Disconnect the lower shock mounts and make sure the shocks move as expected and they are not locked up. Then with them disconnected just bounce the rear up/down to make sure it moves freely and smoothly. If everything checks good then it's probably fine.

Kevin $, If you reccomend 10psi on the MT's what would you reccomend on a set of 28" Hoosiers?
I always run 15 psi hot and im having alot of traction issues.
Thanks and sorry for the hi-jack!:D

Right or wrong I'd start with 10.5 psi in any 10x28 slick and go up/down from there. A buddy ran 10x28 Good Years at 10-10.5 depending on track. If you are starting with 15psi and having traction problems then I would start decreasing psi in 1/4 psi increments and see if you hit a good pressure to run it at.

NosDog,
Kevin is *the man* and knows this stuff inside out! (ie: if all else fails...look into my suggestions, lol.) Anyways, I bet an ARB would help a lot. It made a big difference on my car (although I did not have air bags to play with). Also, if you are blowing the tires off at the hit you may have unequal loads/weights on the rear tires. Something to look into if you haven't scaled it yet. If something is binding/stiff in the rear it could really be un-equally loading the tires.

some chalk or paint on those tires would make things alitte easier to see the spin in the vids!
