is this a dream or possibly a reality? to me a car is streetable if it:
-runs pump gas
-doesnt overheat in summer weather
-doesnt stall at ever other stop light.

its as simple as that. i dont car how much the car shakes at idle, to me thats part of its character. i just want to to be reliable.

im a little torn over a stock block 347 that can make 400whp opposed to the 2k plus premium of a dart block 363. im aware of the differences in the block but if im going to spend the extra money making 500rwhp would be a nice bonus also

very streetable

my afr headed 363, solid roller cammed engine makes 640 hp,runs on pump gas, starts easy, runs super cool on any day, idles by itself, can sit in traffic all day and run 9.7s @137.. sure it rumbles and shakes but i would,nt want it any other way.. so if you do a 347 or 363 you can make it tough and still cruise it no matter what.. of course an engine is only streetable as long as its just that.. if it isn,t...... then its not meant for the street. hope this helps.

Absolutely! I have a Fordstrokers 369 that made 475 rwhp on a brand new zero mile engine N/A so im sure with a few more small tweaks I could hit 500 rwhp.
Combo is:

Fordstrokers 369 - Dart 4.155 -3.400 Stroke -5.400 Rod
TFS TW cnc 205 heads by TEA w/ T&D Shaft-mount rockers
Edelbrock Super Vic efi intake - lightly cleaned up
Bullet Racing Cams TLSR custom cam done by Mark- very tame streetable cam.
Edelbrock elbow upper intake
Accufab 90mm t.b.
Mac 1 3/4" longtubes w/ 3" collector (not very good for this engine)
Full 3" exhaust
Full supporting 1000h.p. fuel system

It pushes the edge of "streetable" to some and not to others. You'll definately know it's a race motor. We ran a Dart 363 with Dart Pro CNC 195 heads that put ~475 to the tire in the T56 Cobra kit car with a Ford 9". Ran 10.30s N/A and 9.70s on 150 shot. We are now doing a Dart based 347 with AFR 205s and keeping the 363 as a backup engine.

U should, that small journal crank and larger cubes will make some nice Power...

plenty of stock 302 block 347's not filled down here in socal doing 500 to the tire on boost and they last. it's in the build and tune.

500 to the tire on a stock block half filled is also attainable and sustainable, NA. Eric Cady from Probe/CHP had a 331 in a stock 302 block half filled with over 600rwhp on boost. motor was still around after three years of heavy racing.

I am running a 347 with a stock block half filled on the street as a second daily driver, .584 lift, 258 dur HR, 11:1CR, AFR 205's and Vic eddy ported. running a Meziere electric WP. two Spal electric fans, and a FRPP oil cooler. solid roller, 11:1, 205/225cc head and 500 to the tire would be attainable, NA on a stock block, half filled or not. all 4340 forged internals, neutral balance.

take ur time in choosing an engine builder and dyno tuner.

Motor

Stroker 347 is correct and that it will prolly last and be fine. The only thing is do you want to invest thousands of dollars on something that could break its to much of a gamble and something I have learned in my short time with cars is that doing it once is way cheaper. Build the motor once correct never do it again. I have a stock block blower car and kick myself for not upgrading.

you dont need a solid roller to make 500rwhp. It helps bandaid some bad parts though. My car just dynod 506rwhp with a hyd roller motor and a stock super victor. It would be very streetable exept for the gforce tranny which i cant figure out how to downshift. Granted it needs 8k at the track but i still drive it to work and the track.
