I think there are just too many variables that effect the first 60ft. I think the "give" in the stock parts helps absorb some of the hit from a high HP car on stock suspension pieces. However, after the intitial launch its a different story. On mostly stock suspension my Vobra was downright scary, you had no idea what the car would do on the 1-2 shift. Sometimes it launched strait, other times it would head for the wall as soon as you dropped the clutch. One thing the aftermarket stuff gives you that most guys are looking for is stability and consistency beyond that first 60ft.

And FWIW... my Vobra with 479rwhp ripped off a string of 1.57-1.58 60fts with 26x11.5 ET Streets, skinny's, no front sway bar, HPM lowers and 8psi in the tires. It was a thrill ride for sure.

I pulled a 1.61 sixty foot with a totally stock suspension car. It did however have the front swaybar removed. It was also spinning. We had run 1.63 with 3.55's and switched to 4.10's which proved to be a little too much torque multiplication for the 26 X 8.5" MT ET drags. I gave my friend some Eibach drag springs for the front and he has since changed from stock exhaust to longtubes and 3" exhaust. I would expect with proper weight transfer, the car should run mid to low 1.50's with the same tiny slicks. James

what dont people understand in "STOCK SUSPENSION"?
I'm sure that wasn't directed towards me because if you have stock springs and conrtrol arms...it's still stock. Just because the front sway bar is removed, it doesn't mean the suspension isn't stock. That's like saying if you bump the timing from 10 degrees initial, to 15 degrees initial, it's no longer stock.

I have sixtied 1.31 with a "stock" type suspension. I didn't include that because it wasn't totally stock. That was all motor too.

I have sixty footed 1.82 with 225 60 potenza's and a totally stock suspension. James

1.68 on bone stock suspension in my vert on 26x11.5x16 et streets @3550 race weight without the front sway bar

1.90s repeatedly on street tires with the sway bar intact.

When my car was totally stock suspension it 60'ed 1.78 with Cascar slicks on stock 10 hole rims.

nope not to you..that was the same "stock" setup i had when i went 1.51 on 26x10s and 1.72 on Dunlop SP 8000s(245-50-16's)

A "True 100% Stock Suspension" is worthless. (OK may 10 cents a pound at the scrapyard). Their are no Awards for it, It won't win you anything...Let It Go!

I only make 308rwhp and 337rwtq. After running BFG Dragradials all season long, I borrowed at set of Hoosier Qicktime Pro's from A friend. I didn't realize how well my suspension was until I put on a decent tire. After bogging my first two passes at 5500, I knew what I had to do.
The lights came down, I held it on the 6300rpm rev limiter, and let the clucth Fly. WALAA... 1.60 60' and a 11.97 shifting at 5800. Givin another run or two, I'm sure I could have made a couple suspension changes and gotten in the high 1.58-1.59 range.

I probaly have less money in my motor than I spent on my suspension. If I was to add another 100HP, this car would Fly....

Rear: HPM Megga Bite Sr adj. lowers, Dbl Adj. uppers, stock rear springs, anti-rollbar, Strange adj. shocks.
Front: Stock K member,Stock A-arms, Moroso Drag Springs, adj. Caster Camber Plates, Lake wood 90/10 struts.
27x11.5 Hoosier Quick Time Pros on a 8" Weld Draglite. (no screws and tires were spinning on the rim about 3/16 - 1/4 ea. pass)

I removed as much weight off the front as possible without gutting my car. I have front and back seats, but no rollbar.
Car wieghs 2900#'s with me in it.
I'm also a big believer in a Alum. Flywheel. It dosent rob as much power, and It helps hook the car up.

You are adding a tremendous amount of torque with the nitrous. Torque and traction are what will make you sixty foot. I built a 306 for my friend and he sixtied 1.61 on the motor with a stock suspension. James
