Ok, my Shaker 500 has gone stupid.

It can't load any CDs at all !!

I put one in and it says something like "Loading CD" for about a minute and then it spits out the CD and says "Bad Disc". :curses:

What is up with that?

It doesn't mater which slot or if I'm using store bought audio CDs or burned CDs with MP3 - it just spits it out.

I've tried various music CD, it doesn't matter. Its not the CD, it's my stupid Shaker 500.

I'm taking it to the dealer tommorow.

I took mine to Ford for the same type of problem, but when mine actually loaded it would cut songs off early and fast forward through tracks by itself. My friend's 05 F-350 has the same problem, I think it is a factory defect. Anyways, Ford said they had to order a part but have heard nothing in a couple weeks. I called them today, I will let you know if I find anything out.

Please keep us posted. I think mine may be starting to act a little odd as well..

Anybody here bought one of those adapters to add RCA-jack inputs connected to the AUX button? What about adding RCA pre-outs for an amp to the Shaker?

Had a very similar problem, there is a TSB out about it. Take it to Ford and they will change the radio out. I had mine done twice and still have the problems but on the second time replacing the radio they nicked my dash. They have sinced replaced the dash and I am through replacing the factory radio for now. I will put in an aftermarket one down the road.

I just had my "1000" replaced last week for skipping/ bad disc/ cutting songs off short. I talked to the service writer and told him I would remove the upper console, console side covers and center faceplate myself so the only dash parts they might scratch was the hidden radio mount. They had no problem with that. I then took the car in so they could read the part number off the radio and make the order for the new one. Three days later I took the car back in for the change. It's been working very well so far.
