anyone ever deal with this issue? the actual upper mount on the drivers side rear shock SEPERATED from the body. it doesnt look like any metal was ripped upon first inspection. it looks like some factory seam sealer around the mount bracket. the metal is not rusty or anything. it just cleanly seperated from the body. i still have to de-trim to get a better look at everything, but it just baffles me how it doesn't even look like the part was welded in the first place.
i did have some squeaking from the rear that i could not locate the source, i had just assumed it was the bushings in the rear suspension, so i greased everything but i could still hear a squeak. well, the squeak is gone and its now a loud clunk, so my source is probably that mount was getting ready to let go for a while now. after some spirited driving at the Woodward dream cruise in Michigan, it has now given up the ghost and broke free.
i imagine i shouldn't have a problem with just welding it back up in its original location, and re sealing the welds?
