Hi,
I have decided to run nitrous on my 98 Cobra. What kit should I get ( NOS, NX) and what else will I need. I want to keep it at 125 shot or under. Not trying to blow anything up. Any comments, suggestions are appreciated. Thank you,
Jake

I forgot, I am getting a dry kit.....

I ran a NOS Kit #5171(150hp)- switched to a blower and now have the kit for sale. It worked well but was just too hard to control with stock tires. I would highly recommend a flip chip so that you don't have to retard the timing (full time) when you are not running the NOS. You'll need a bottle heater and for a high "cool" factor, an NOS purge kit.

OK, What other kits are out there? I thought NX made a dry kit too. Any other kits besides NOS, or is the NOS kit the best? I am getting a purge kit and will get a bottle heater later. Do I need the window switch? Help me out 96-98 nitrous users.

Why would NX make a dry kit when wetter is better?!?:D

I think a purge kit on a dry car is kinda...well...dumb. I mean, if all your going for is intimidation factor than by all means get it.

A window switch is good if you like to tach out the motor raicng it. A bottle heater is key if you live in a cool part of the country. There is alot of other stuff you need to know. But we need to know what kit you get to help you out better.

Hocke0233, could you give details about your kit? How much of a shot were you spraying? I'd also like to know what rpms you were at, what gear, and your mods list. Thanks.

i wasn't spraying..

I used the 75-100 shot...

I always sprayed after 3k never over line
Always ran decent fuel.

My mods are full exhaust, 4.10- alum driveshaft, pullies, yada yada

I was using stock fuel pump at the time.

I used the zex kit for close to 2 years now over 50k miles

They just saw my n20 bottle and blammed the spray but I dont know if that was really the case. Dont even fully know whats wrong with it just that it needs to be replaced. My 1 & 2 cynld aren't working at all but still showing 135 when i do a comp test

What i should have had.
1.Chip/ Timing Adjuster
2. Fuel Press Switch

Have all the other goodies

Sorry to ramble its late and Im looking for a 99-02 GT motor

I like the Nitrous Works kit with the plate that sandwiches in between the TB and the intake. I haven't used it but it looks pretty cool, plus you wouldn't have to drill a hole in your intake tract. I'm not even sure they make them for DOHC's though... Oh yeah, it's a wet kit. I like wet kits because you know you're getting enough fuel as long as it's jetted right. You don't have to rely on just your injectors for fuel. Just a thought.

I too have heard that nitrous works is not only safe to use, but they also list their hp readings in rwhp, so if you get a 100 shot, you actually get 100hp. If I get nitrous I"m with them.

Do they make it for the 32 valve?
