Hello all, I have a 347 swapped 87 hatch with long tube headers that appears to have some heat soak issues. I have relocated the TFI already as a start. I was thinking of adding some hood vents to let heat escape, and I have access to a pair of oem 2014 gt hood vents. Does anyone know if the contour of the hoods would allow them to be put in without warping the plastic?
Thank you!

you are likely blazing a trail with this one. one way to find out basically. me? cut some cardboard up and hot glue tack it to the vents. then coat the cardboard in glass resin. then cut away from the vents at the hot glue tack points and now you have your vent contour that you can now kinda set on the hood and see if its close enough for government work and worth your time hacking up your hood.

I'm running the lmr 3 core and a mark vii fan. Underhood temps get pretty brutal here in the summer here still.
That is a sweet looking vent! Was it a universal one or is it a fox specific one?
I was also looking at getting a set of race louver ones if this didn't work out. But if anyone knows of an effective universal one I wouldn't be opposed. I was cooking up this idea because I really like the mesh to guard the engine bay from debris but I suppose I could add that to anything

My rad uses 1.5" cores, and the fans are dual contour, The vent is a universal I found on e-bay - they had several designs. The one I selected had the dimension and slight wedge that fit the Fox hood. When stopped and the fans on, you can feel the heat being driven out. But on the move, I'm not sure - never tested it with tufts of yarn.

I have gotten the vents in, and we're pretty sure they will fit about here.

they will go here without cutting any supports .Been raining like a sob so haven't been able to do much outside work. Just wanted to show you all a visual update and get any thoughts on a potential better location.

You may be right, I'm hoping it'll be enough to help the air escape. If I'm not satisfied I'm not opposed to adding a vent similar to yours to help airflow. I'm gonna get this all figured out before we paint so I'm not chopping up a fresh paint job. I'm also looking at making a set of those rte looking intake turn signal lamps to help more air come in and because I like how they look. Found a busted set of lens housings at the scrap yard while I was there so I don't feel so bad chopping up old OEM parts
