I'm trying to compare the weight of a New Edge vs. and older fox body. Specifically comparing a stock 2003 GT vs. a stock '93 LX 5.0L hatchback. My gut tells me 3,300 lbs. on the 2003 and 3,200 lbs. on the LX. Is it only a 100 lb. difference? I can't seem to locate any credible sources online.

My bone stock 1991 5.0 LX hatch with 5 speed trans, cloth seats, moon roof, and 16 inch ponys with the stock rubber, weighed in at 3220, without me in it.

The fox Mustangs weren't as light as one would expect and the 1999 - 2004 Mustangs aren't as heavy as one might expect. With the 2 cars parked side by side, the new edge Mustang looks substantially heavier than the fox. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the 4.6 motors weigh more than the 5.0 (302) motors.

I think the #'s from motor trend are like 3,400-3,600 for the new edge and 3,600-3,800 for s197.

my 90lx with me in it and 1/2 tank weighs 3050lbs

my 04, with 1/8 tank of fuel, no spare/jack, alum DS, longtubes and o/r midpipe, weighed 3180 without me in it.

its an ABS/TC delete car, but it does have leather, power seat, Mach 460, etc.

i added MM sfc's, built 31-spline 8.8, LCA's, pulled front sway, bigs/lils and it weighed 3100 even, again with an 1/8 of a tank.

it should be under 3000 now, but a fair margin, still Mach 460, still power leather, still rear seat in it.

believe it or not the leather seats are 4-5 pound lighter than the cloths, I just changed my leather ones out about a month ago and decided to weigh them while I was at it, I was a tad surprised at the results I really would have thought the cloths would be lighter for some reason

The leather seats are right around 35 pounds, the drivers is 36 and the passenger 34. The cloth were 42 for the drivers and 40 for the passenger. Those are without tracks, the power track also weighs in at 8 pounds. I think you also can take some save some weight on the seats if you puled the lumbar support out, haven't tried yet but seeing that I have the leather seats just sitting around the garage I might as well try it out
