Lowered on FRPP C Springs, front has poly isolators, rear has bottom isolator only. 17x9/10.5 rims from AM (275/40 and 315/35).

 

My '99 on 18" bronze TSW Nurburgrings... 18x8.5 front, 18x9.5 back, Eibach Sportline springs, KYB shocks/struts

 

Not as beautifully shot as you guys, but I've got FR500 wheels, 18's, 10.5in rear and 9in front. Tires: 295/35/18 rear and 275/35/18 front.

These pictures, lowered on Eibach Pro Kit stuff. Don't have pics with the MM coilovers yet.

You will not get a better set of wheels and tires for the money than a staggered 17" combo with Mickey Thompson Street Comps mounted on it for around $1150 to your door from American Muscle.

17" for performance, initial cost and tire replacement cost. No brainer IMO.

18 and 19s look the best. 19s and 20s look the best on 2005+ cars.

 

I disagree. 18-19s look good on Cobras but on GTs, 17-18s are better because 19s make the teeny little GT brakes look even more ridiculous.

Yes it is and the ONLY tire that looks good on these cars! But it takes a narrowed rearend to tuck it in nicely so they don't rub.

What tire is it btw? And narrowed rear... narrow as in swap it with a 94-98 rear or even narrower than that? Those 17x10.5s or something else?

 

17x10 w/ 325/45-17 M&H DR's.
I had the rear narrowed 1 1/8" (?) per side but it was too much even tho the tire was perfectly centered in the wheel well so I added a spacer to space them back out. I think a 94-98 rear would be perfect as-is.

That looks pretty badass. Always liked thicker sidewalls, I hate the rubber bands I see ppl running around with, my last car had a 26.7" rear tire via a 275/40/18 BFG and that really filled up the wheel well nicely and hooked great. Hard to pass up the price of a 315/35/17 MT Street Comp tho...

 

Stock 17" wheels, 1.25" spacers on rears, 245/45/17 pilot sports. Lowered about .75" front, 1.25" rear.

17" here.

 

Just picked up a 01 GT last week. It's my first Mustang. Any idea on the biggest tire I can put on the back without having any issues with rubbing or anything. I love the big tire in the back look. I plan on keeping my 245/45/17 up front. Any info would be appreciated.

Kinda screwed up on my last post. I meant how big a tire I can go using the stock 17x8 rim? sorry for the confusion.

 

Keep the stock size on there. You can technically put a 275 on it but it'll bulge like crazy and will handle like ####. Rims are cheap anyway especially if you hit a sale like the big AM sale that just happened. $50 per rear rim and $99 per front.

 

My wheels aren't anything special (stock 17x8), but here's a few shots of how my car sits.

Front: MM coilovers, Bilstein HD's, MM forward offset control arms
Rear: Bilstein HD's, H&R SS, Steeda weight jacker RLCA's

 

I don't really like any wheels on any car bigger than 17", because the small sidewall of the tires just looks silly.

But, that's just me. Do whatever butters your roll I say.

 

That's why I went with a 45 and 40 sidewall front/back respectively when I put 18s on my SN95.
