Sweet, are you assembling it yourself, or gonna have a machine shop do it?

 

I am going to do it myself. Doing alot of reading right now. First bottom end assembly that I have ever done.

 

I must say atleast your doing it the proper way (Dart block, good heads,etc)! Just do like you are and read up on engine building, but the best way i learned was hands on (Vocational school, auto and diesel engine rebuilding). Is this going to be a N/A motor or forced induction? Only reason i ask if its going to be forced induction i bet a bigger head will work better with the 347 your building, but if its going to be a N/A motor then its going to make some great HP with what you have so far. Yeah, I wish that I had a bigger head, but these will have to do for now.

 

Well for now it will be a KILLER no doubt! Atleast you can allways upgrade heads,blower,cam,etc and never have to worry about the block splitting.

Nice, whats a new Dart block go for these days? I would love to do a 393 combo and use an aftermarket block later. Build a twin kit or bolt a D1-R to it and call it a day.

You are definately going in the right direction with that block. After splitting two stock 5.0 blocks I broke down and purchased a Dart block. On just motor my 347 runs consistant 10.80's in a 3000lb Fairmont and is 100% streetable. Good luck with your project!

This video is nearly a 50MB file... And the server this is on seems pretty slow. 35KB/Sec on my DSL.

You really should convert it to a WMV so more people can watch/stream it or upload it to youtube and it will automatically be converted to a smaller Flash file.

I'm DLing it now... 10 mins left. ..:eeek:.
