Last year I was going to sell my stang so I swapped the Magnaflow x pipe with high flow cats back to the stock h pipe with 4 cats. It reminded me how boring it was to drive with the stock restrictive piece on there. I had to replace the convertible top so I decided to keep it. I didn't even want to drive it anymore. Slow as heck and takes forever to wind out and shift (automatic).
This week we swapped it out at work and all is right in the 2V world again.
I am going to take it to a local chassis Dyno or the track just to find out what it does and embarrass myself. 🤣
I have had the car for 10 years now and it has never been to the track because 1) it is slow 2) I have always had much faster cars around as well.
The tires are 8 years old now and look great with tons of tread but now that my wife is driving it more when I do tires I may go ahead and put some drag radials on the back and go to the track for giggles. If it ran in 8's in the 1/8 I would be tickled. A stall converter would help it a TON.
Car has a couple of bolt on mods and a canned 93 octane tune with 3.55 gears.
Moral of the story is if you still own a stock exhaust new edge the first mod you should do is a 2.5 mid pipe with(or without) high flow cats (h or x up to you). Mine has a 2.5 dynomax Super Turbo cat back as well.
If the difference isn't 20hp/ft lbs I would be surprised.
