I am installing 2 1/16 water temp and oil pressure gauges in the dash clock position. The electric and mechanical gauges are about the same $. Do I want to use electric gauges since they are in the cabin, or are mechanical more accurate and a better choice?

I'm using a mechanical oil pressure and an electric water temp in my car. The mechanical water temp would be a very difficult install due to the copper tube not being very flexible and there are several severe bends it would have to make to be routed to the clock pod. If you do decide to use a mechanical oil pressure I would recommend using the braided steel line instead of the cheesy plastic one. The autometer electric gauges are accurate, they just don't react as quickly as the mechanical ones.

I'm running an electric water temp gauge and a mechanical oil pressure gauge w/ a copper line. If I were to do it all over again I would use all electric gauges.

The main difference is the full sweep of the mechanical gauges, which makes the mechanical gauge seem more accurate. I am running electrical gauges to hide the wires & no fluid in the cabin.
