My twin 8 year old boys, Alec and Garrett, were getting their physicals yesterday for little league football. Garrett came up to my wife and asked when the doctor at the physical had to check his penis, what they were looking for? She started to come up with an answer when he blurted out: "ARE THEY LOOKING FOR A BONER?"

She then heard Alec ask Garrett, "what do they do if they find something wrong with it?" Garrett replied, "THEY CUT IT OFF OF COURSE!"

lol nice story Z! I remember when I was 6 or so, and my brother was 10 we were at the pediatrician and he told us to get into our undies to watch us walk and check our gate, and my brother turned to me and said "What if I get a boner?" and I was like "Oh, I bet he's used to that" LOL... The doc laughed for a good minute.

Anybody have a fox body manual rack for sale? I need to ditch my power steering setup.

A foxbody manual rack is going to be tough, I would just look for a mustang/cobra rack with least amount of gear ratio. Your going to be a big and little drag car, your front skinnys contact patch are going to be quite narrow not requiring much effort to turn. Plus the P/S rack will be more less likely to turn when you rotate the weight off the front tires and to the rear. Just make sure your arms are at 90 degree angle so you have more leverage to turn then driving with your arms straight out.

Whew Hot day indeed, from the time I walked into the office door at 6:30 I was working in the Non-A/C part of the lab and had sweated out my shirt and pants by 9:30. Either my body was getting used to the heat, but I just kept going. Got most of my new Test machine that I designed partially assembled. Lots of fabricating sheetmetal and welding today and installed so gauges much like a dash that reads temp and pressure. Wiring it just like a car making all the wires just long enough and neat and tidy. Did all the connections at the removal test harness using GM weather paks so I can swap various size test motors in and out without the need to wire everything up. It is very modular, I designed all the mounts to be standard on the test table. So matter what size the test motors are the table mounts are the same. I basically just custom make a motor mount. The firewall style plumbing mounts came out great. I used 3/4" steel tube and welded a drilled out a 3/4" ID washer with two bolt holes. I cut a 1" hole thru the sheetmetal and used a rubber diaphram as a gasket seal. Then drill two matching bolt holes using the washer holes as a guide. Then on the other side use another drilled out washer and couple nuts. Makes a perfect low cost sandwich firewall flange. Same method could be used for running a fuel line, water line, or even a electrical thru connection.

I was telling one of my co-workers I wish I could build this stuff everyday.

Was some more, but had a power outage here at home.

Well I decided on a roofer, I was going to have the family friend who is a professional carpenter. But he got his old job back and wasn't too sure if he would be able to do it or not. So I had a meeting with another this evening and they were very up front with the options and the tech. I mentioned in a email to a few here that I have email too that I had a roofer quote who wanted to close up my attic vents on the front and side of my house and install more under gutter vents. Well the reason behind this is do to new building code regulations. Front and side vents do not meet code and only remove excess heat. They don't allow your attic to circulate the air which causes your shingles and A/C Furnace to not be as efficient and meet warranty limitations. Some company's are voiding warranty's do to roofs not to current code. So they add more lower soflet gutter vents and more peak cap vents. Then block off the louvered decorative attic vents. We are getting the nicer dimensional shingles with a 30 year warranty, and get this a 30 year labor warranty which is very rare most places are a year or 5 with additional cost. Plus this company doesn't drop off the big trash dumpster, they have wheeled carts and they cover windows and garage doors with plywood. They lay down full coverage of bushes and flower beds. They use a magnetic skimmer to pick up any nails. Sweep and clean all exterior walks and clean the windows when finished. Also no money up front which 75% ask and they hand nail all shingle, no use of air guns which damage the wood and tear the under lining. The are also going to steel wrap the the bottom gutter edge so the water doesn't back up under the shingles. They premium shingle cost was the same as everyone with the base and the other places didn't do all the metal wrapping.

Now the scary part, it cost as much as a nice clean foxbody. About $7k, now you can just get a second roof of shingle layer installed, but we have wood damage requiring new sheets of wood to be installed. Home ownership comes with hurdles.

Everyone kept saying a roof should be $3k or so. Well the supplies cost close to a grand or more even for the cheap stuff. The good stuff cost alot more as usual. But we pretty much decided this will always be our home, so I don't plan to do another till I retire to southern utah.

Paint needs to be buffed out and is chalky red.

Underneath is not very rusty but it is a midwest car along with the front fenders mentioned above.
Take the car to a jiffy lube & have them change the engine oil & trans fluid, charge up the A/C and you could pimp this thing every day...
I would take if for myself but already have a 93 5.0 sitting in Luna's garage(thanks!) and too many projects...

Asking $3450, fly in & drive it home.

Robert Half Technology

Has anyone here worked for Robert Half Technology? They are an IT consulting company. This particular office is based in Indy. I submitted my resume for a job and received a phone call from one of their recruiters about 20 minutes after I did so. The job in question is a temporary Help Desk position at INTAT Precision in Rushville. Robert Half wants me to go to their office in Indy tomorrow and interview with them.

I'm a little naive, but quickly educated myself about this consultant thing. Basically, the client pays them to find me, and I get a cut of that. I read A LOT of bad reviews about Robert Half. A lot of people complaining about not getting work. People stating that the job they applied for was never even available.. just a way for Robert Half to get their info (which some people say is even sold). They were fairly specific about the job and since they gave me the company name I plan to call their HR department directly tomorrow and ask if the position does indeed exist. If so then I plan to go to the interview at Robert Half. Curious if anybody has worked for them.

Now, I'm not at all wanting to be in this consultant line of work. The only reason I'm even considering it is I've seen many people come in as temps or consultants and then get hired on full time by the client. I'm confident that if INTAT was using this service as merely a means of screening employees that I could prove myself. If not, well, it's still a job while I look for something else.

Thanks!
Kirk

Personally I have done contract type work that lead to a direct hire job with the company and know many that were told to go to such and such for work and they would drive half way across the country and by the time they got there there was no more work (aircraft maintenance).... my direct hire job dried up really fast once I went direct.

Recruiters are like millitary recruiters, don't trust them..... as long as they get to to apply for a job then they get paid, if you only get to work for a day then who cares because they still get paid.

If you are going to interview then I am sure there is a job available but never hold your breath when dealing with a recruiter.

Good morning everyone!

Less than 48 hours before we roll south to Myrtle Beach! It cannot get here soon enough.

Ben - I would say that clutch is definitely done!!!

Kirk - Good luck on the interview and hopefully they are not scamming you. I like your attitude towards it and that always helps.

Matt - I was wondering how that movie was going to be. The previews look awesome and I have been wanting to see it. I will definitely have to go see it now.

Steve - Any update on the Whore? How did things go yesterday?

Brian - that is hilarious. I woudl loved to have seen the warden's face when the boys said that.

Dont know yet. It is a 2 day process. Unlike a Mustang, you cant just "wham bam thank you mam" with the Whore. You have woo her, caress her, give her what SHE wants and not what YOU want. She requires much foreplay. Get her nice and hot, treat her right, and she will definately put out, err I mean produce good results. Should know something this afternoon as I am picking her up later today.

Car is done!

They had to replce the throttle body on it as the blade was hanging on the volute. Throttle is surprisingly much more crisp. Idle is a little smoother. Car still suffers from the "soft miss" at part throttle cruise. Unfortunately it has been officially confirmed that it is cam related (I had always suspected that). Too much reversion which unfortunately is right at my cruise rpm. It is not horrible, I was just hoping it could get tuned out, but not to be. A side effect of having a "large" cam. But below 3000rpm the car is much more alive.

They did a 180mph parasitic decel (I may have the terminology wrong), anyway, the car will apparantly at go at least 180mph. I was surprised at that since I have 3.90's in it. But according to the eddy current Mustang dyno and the speedo, it will do it. With 3.42's it is an easy 200mph car. Scary.

It made 498RWHP on their Mustang Dyno. I was told by them to add anywhere from 8% to 10% to that number for a "typical" Dynojet number. So, the car made somwhere between 537RWHP and 547RWHP. Just where it is suppossed to be relative to the FWHP numbers.

Look for a Whore near you.
