Super stoked to get my car painted this winter, it’s at the body shop now. They are finishing up some small odds and ends and will be going into the paint booth in the next few weeks. Car was originally black and its been in black primer since I’ve owned it. Not interested in a stock color and selected this. Open to comments and suggestions of similar colors.

Congrats on getting to the painting process, I hope that you love it.

I have a 73 Ranchero that I got last year, which may be very close to that color. I think it's a GM color, I think there was a color code paper among the stuff it came with. The shade doesn't thrill me, but it is nice. I'm aiming towards a darker blue for my other truck, but it may be two years before I get that far.

I’ve gotten pretty balls deep in the build being that anything that had to be taken off is being replaced. I fell down the rabbit hole quickly only trim that I’m reusing are the ground effects and rear glass trim. It’s getting all new emblems, black moldings, body side moldings, weather strips, wiper arms, door handles, latches, hinge pins, strikers, door jamb switches, and quarter windows. Head lamps, fog lamps but leaving the cheese graters 😬😬

Roughly like this?
Didn't some years of GT have a two tone blue top and gray bottom combo?

I like that color. The mustang in post # 4 looks awesome.

I chose a mid-late 90's color when I had my fox repainted. It was Ford paint code KM. It looked lighter or darker depending on the lighting.

That Blue is beautiful. I'm a big fan of the Honda/Acura colors. For my '86 vert, I went with a Gray called Polished Steel. I didn't want too much brown or blue undertones. So, I toured several Honda and Acura dealer lots with the paint chips I had to see how the colors looked in sun, shadow and at night on full sized cars. Helped a bunch to see the color under different lighting conditions.

I have earned a some favors from the body shop over the years so it’s costing me next to nothing. My best guess is somewhere around $5-6,000 would be the retail price. I had no idea he was doing as much work as he really did. I thought I was getting a quick spray and back to me but he went full restore mode. Hoping it brings the value of my Fox closer to 20K. It’s sure came a long way
