I need vacuum caps that won't dry rot in 15 seconds

My thread title is a bit sarcastic, but in all seriousness, does anyone know of a manufacturer that actually makes vacuum caps that won't dry rot?

I replaced the vacuum caps on my vacuum tree last year and in tracking down a vacuum leak over the weekend, this was the culprit.

I bought the cheap ones from the parts store made by Dorman thinking that it was as good as anything else, but this is clearly not the case.

I went on eBay and saw some silicone 1/4" caps that were made offshore, but I have second thoughts about that.

I feel like this is a simple part that I should be able to buy once and forget about for good.

Does anyone have any thoughts? I need 1/4" vacuum caps to be more specific.

I agree, it seems like vac caps dont last very long. This is not a good thing if your using them on the under side of the plenum.

These are the caps that I bought 7 years ago. They're still in place and haven't dry rotted.

Look at the Resilient Rubber Caps. The silicone rubber caps will outlast the car.

Thanks for the info, I have had a lot of problems with vacuum caps and the rubber caps for water outlets/coolant hose nipples, such as on water pumps. Both the vacuum caps and the water outlet caps both rot very quickly.

I go to Autozone, they have I think a 10 pack of assorted black sizes in the "help" section. they last for years....

Jegs sells an assorted bag of them made from hypalon. Should last a long while, and they're all black, not like the rainbow bag you get at the parts store.
