Well I'm knee deep in my midlife crisis and have decided to build a toy. I picked up an 06 gt 4.6/auto premium for the platform.

I have a ton of choices but here's the two prime ones:

Mmr 3v longblock 1000 capable
Ported heads
Stage 2 mmr turbo cams
Full upgrades arp, oilpump etc
Prob the boss block and stroker as well.

1000 capable coyote lower with stock heads

Looking at an aeromotive stealth fuel pump

Unsure on what direction to go with the turbo setup. Maybe a single 88 or twin 67's. Looking at building the tranny and rear also.

Those are all great choices. I would stay with the 3v based mmr block, stock heads, turbo cams, 7675 turbo, 4r70w swapped with fb vb, id1000 injectors, a1000 fuel pump, -8 feed -6 return, ford 9", 33 s axles, and I think the stock eec will get you there but some would prefer a stand alone.

So the 5r55 isn't up to the task? I see there is a few parts to build it and I found a convertor that says it'll take 1k . I'm planning on running 3.08's so the extra gear isn't an issue.

I've been into 4x4's for along time and was thinking or ordering a ruffstuff specialties housing, but I was under the impression the 8.8 would be up to the task. Welded tubes, girdle cover, 35 spline guts, and 9in ends. I'm now in ak so shipping on big stuff sucks.

Trying to check 2 boxes off the bucket list, 1001 hp and 200 mph.

Turbo Horsepower - turbo kits, chassis, accessories

What's the thoughts on twin 57's or upgrading to the 67's from a driving and power standpoint? I'm looking for this car to be a true dd. As in the wife can run to the corner store for milk in it. So I'm not really concerned with lag, from what I've seen a ported and cammed stroker 3v will be pushing 400hp before the boost. Hence why I'm going turbo not big twin screw. I don't want 1000 hp at 1200 rpm and 25 mph.

I would suggest the follow. Because its easy find info and others have done it and parts are more available.

1000hp Coyote Shortblock or check out MMR new Coyote Block.
Boss Heads and cams.

4r70w Trans. These are very reliable and can be built to hold 1k HP and still have street friendly.

8.8 rear. Yes they can be built to hold 1k hp. Many do it.

They are heavy cars so buy all light weight suspension stuff to help get power to ground and drop some LBs.

Another good idea and might be even more streetable. Get yourself the new 6-speed auto that's in 5.0. I see a lot of guys hitting 7,800 hp with them stock! So with some work they could hit 1k and bee tuned to drive normal when not into them.

For turbo I would go either go larger twin or huge single. This way its laggy and when driving on street it won't touch boost unless you REALLY want it to :)

Just some ideas.

I run a single 6262 turbo and it is capable of 600rwhp alone, that's close to 135mph in 1/4. I like to opt for less turbo to make the power goal for my car because I don't like lag. These billet turbo's are amazing at what they can produce in small packages. Don't be scared of higher boost pressures especially running on e85 or race fuel. 25psi is very doable on pump e85.
