Call up Circle D and see what they have to say.

 

I have an Edge racing 3000rpm converter. Mine is in an AOD, but they make 4r70 converters as well. I am very happy with it, and it made a big difference. This is one part I would spend extra on if need be.

 

I guess I should had also said that I have a 4R behind a 347 with a CircleD triple disc lockup converter with a 3200 stall speed. Overkill for this setup.

 

Growing room What are you using for a shifter?

 

I have a pro torque converter single disk in my 4r70w behind my 347 in my foxbody. Stalls at 3500rpm on the transbrake. Very happy with with mine.

 

first off a 4r and a c4 aren't even comparable

budget wise your cheapest option is going to be a roadrunner converter the highest stall you can get ~4000 rpm or so.

Then simply control the stall speed to whatever you want in the tune.

 

Have given up getting in touch with EDGE converters. Not sure whats going on or what their deal is but no email response and dont answer their phone so guess someone else will get my $. Id love a Pro Torque but at this moment they are a little pricey for my street ride.

 

As long as you are not needing a high-stall, multiple disc converter to hold high HP in O/D, something like this will likely suit your needs.

I’ve had my last couple of converters built by Broader Performance after having issues with some of the vendors named above. Jay hand builds everything custom to what you want / need and if you don’t like it, he will restall etc. Don’t worry if what you want isn’t listed on the website, if it’s for a Ford, Jay can build it.
