It will work fine without the hurst plate....It shifts like the stocker to me. I like the knotching feeling of the gear engagement that the steeda shifters have...I had a Hurst and b&m shifter...that were both changed out for a Steeda...The Hurst plate is just for the handle upgrade...you can use it with the stock shifter if you want....

I just put me old hurst stick and t-handle on my triax. I get bored from time to time, usually every six months or so....lol. I go back and forth from my shorty triax stick and cobra knob to the hurst stuff to keep myself entertained......hehe

Thank you Chipster that second pic was exactly what I was looking for. I didnt know how the hurst handle worked with stock boot but now I see it slips over it and looks good. I might try the Tri-Ax with hurst handle
