my valve cover gasket was leaking alot of air in to the crank case would this make my car idle hunt and stall or what let me know what you think it would do thanks

A vacuum leak can definately cause an erratic idle. Do you have a vacuum guage so that you can check to see if you actually have low vacuum??
turns out 4 of the 6 valve cover bolt holes were striped out and the guy that had put the valve covers on just pushed the bolts in the hole so it was just sitting there so i had to drill out and tap the hole then put a heli coil in there and it seals up good but i still have to do the other side
