You will not break a boss block with 185's and an S trim...Either I or H beam will with hold everything that little S trim can put out.

 

They always came with a scat I beam rod. 1500 hp block with a 500 hp rod. Also a 4032 mahle piston with no option other than flat top

 

It's funny i'm in the exact same position as the OP. I could have started the exact same post. S-trim, 185's, etc...,

I can get a discount on a Boss block and have been considering it.

 

I only see the usual 363 long blocks, no 331-347's

 

same block im using. no issue with it, i like it.

 

The reason I'm looking at this is its off the shelf ready to go. The only thing that looks weird is the 7cc dome. I will have to look closer at it when time comes. I like the 4.125 bore on the 331 vrs the smaller bore longer stroke 347. Plus looks like I might get a discount being a ford employee.

A dome is the last thing you want with a blower. These are ford racing short blocks? Link?

I believe all their 331-347-363 shortblocks are all h-beam rods now.

 

Where are these 331-347 short blocks at, I see nothing but 363

 

Ahh I found the 331, 3.100 stroke, 4.125 bore with a 7cc dome. This one uses eagle. It appears its built using left over inventory 99% of people dont buy.

 

Ah - example of the 1%ers getting screwed.

Don't buy from Summit or FRPP, get a real builder to build it. Cost is very close to that Summit price that doesn't even have good parts.

 

I just looked again, a CAST crank in a dart block with stock style I beam rods for 4300? I am raising my prices asap lol

 

just curious why you don't have a few ready to go shortblocks and longblocks on hand. I'd bet they'd sell.
