I have a 95 cobra with a vortech v3 on it and im wanting to do a front mount intercooler setup. Ive seen some of the ways it's been done, the flipping of the intake and reclocking the blower and swapping to a foxbody tb setup.

I havent found any recent posts about making this work and most of the pics from the older posts have disappeared.

So im wondering whats everyone opinions on making a fmic work on a vortech blown 5.0 in our cars. Im thinking about converting to fox tb and getting a cx racing fmic kit for a 87 to 93 fox and making it work.

Subscribing. . . . I have seen people flip the intake for turbo applications for FMIC. Personally I was considering meth instead of an IC. Those CX racing cores are not going to help your IAT's as much as you think. I have ran them on a few cars and they soak pretty easily. If your gonna get a core, get a good quality core that will keep the intake side cool. I had one on my Evo for example and was a 3" core, and was basically almost like not even running one. I changed to a much higher quality core and was a considerable change in measured IAT's
These just dont seem dense enough from my experience.

Will definitely consider getting a better core. Just trying to figure out what setup to go with to make a fox kit work on my. Im thinking reclocking the blower to sit similar to a fox setup and running a fox intake manifold and tb is gonna be the easiest way to make it work. Just curious if its been done.

In my opinion pressure drop is too significant to make a front mount worth while on our cars. You will have to up the blower speed to get the airflow back - which leads to smaller pulley, more belt tension, hotter air charge, etc etc. Have you looked into a meth kit? I love my Anderson unit.

To add to the topic, I ordered a Meth kit for this very reason last week. Seems to be a much simpler fix to IAT issues. I am choosing to not lean into too much additional timing though. I just want to use mainly for the cooling characteristics and additional safety when the summer months come

I don't have the pictures saved on my pc anymore, but I did a cxracing intercooler and flipped my box R...found one on cardomain that I put up a while back

you'd probably have to do a fox-style throttle body
