Went to the track yesterday in full street trim. On 27X11.5 hoosier quick time pros, and crappy 2.5 inch exhaust went 9.97@141.37 with a 1.7 60ft. Nothing broke, so I'm happy. Still plenty rich on the wideband, and lots of timing left to be rolled in at a later date. Car is a 331 Dart block, passenger side Vortech YSI, twisted wedge heads, b-451 cam, edelbrock performer rpm intake, c-4 trans, and PMS for the tune.

No new paint chips that I could find, but I have to admit I cringe everytime I take it out, especially the drag strip. The C-4 will make a big difference, 5 tenths for me in my old car.

1/8 mile was 6.52@112.43, car was picking up every run, just ran out of time to make more.

I ordered a Edge Pro Race convertor. Its custom they said it should be about a 3500-3800. I would have liked more, but they were leery about much higher because shift points are only 5800 or so. I was also a little perturbed about its 9.5" size as I would have liked an 8". I will have to trust them though, I think I covered my end with my "no compromises statement".

Becarefull of the TCi, if I remember correctly...a certian individual ripped the splines right out one. ;)

I hope so man. At least its got a good warranty on it.

So when is your car making its true maximum effort appearance?

Did you ever get an S-Trim for the Hatch? I have your old one for sale complete with PP and AFM discharge with Mondo bypass if your looking for one.

Just throwing a word of caution out there. I had the same convereter as Scott knows. I used it when I bought my YS and had a 3" upper with my A4 block...310ci. I had it tuned at Andersons and it made 680rwhp. I went home..drove down the street and turned around. Got the car rolling about 10-15mph...hammered it and went 1-2 ok and then 2-3 and it just reved and hit the limiter. Coasted to 100ft of my house. Started taking stuff apart and it was the converter. Splines were missing. After talking to a few trany/converter guys, they told me that the TCi's did not offer a hardened spline in that series.

I am not knocking scotts car or anything, but 6.50's is nothing to get excited over with a YS or YSi. S trims do that. He knows how to make it faster, when he does, I hope he is carefull. Thats all this is about..

Geez, can't I get a break... That 6.50 was with a 1.7 60 ft. Street tires and a YSI don't mix. For the record my friend went 9.50s with the same converter, no problems. We shall see. If it breaks, oh well. Now if I could just figure out why it strips the ribs right off the blower belt, and throw on some slicks it might go a little faster... Tim, any recommendations on the belt issue, already have Kurgans crank support. Or is this normal??
