I am finally back on my engine build but now i need it for a daily driver. I already have a stock block that has been cleaned and dipped so has the crank, new rings and bearings and an f303 cam. I have not built the top end yet. Is this cam good for daily driving and what would be a good setup for a reliable 300+ daily driver?

Sid, the F cam is fine for a DD. It's more suited for FI applications, but has been run in NA applications with great results...as long as it's not in a speed density car. 300+ HP at the wheels will take a bit more (heads, intake, exhaust), so it'll be a combination of everything that will get you there. An Explorer top end with a ported lower may get you close.

Gears will help. Power will come one like a light switch at 3000. Below that, it's going to feel like a dog. If you have an AOD, your going to want about at least a 2800 stall.

i had one in my old 86, ported e7 heads, maf conversion and basically everything else stock. worked great for me, was even good on gas untill you stepped on it.

I've been very happy with the Crane 2031 cam in my '92. Great sound at idle, stock like driveability, and it's emmissions legal (My car passed with flying colors). Very nice little cam. Specs with 1.7 rockers are .513/.529 lift, .214/.220 duration, 112 lsa.

I had one when it first came out in a 89lx, TW heads, performer intake, rest of the bolt ons, 3.73's, etc.

I thought it came on way too late for a daily. I had to spin the heck out of that thing. I think a better matched cam would make the car feel much more powerful on the street. It sounded nasty, but I could have created a vacuum leak and saved the money. In my humble opinion, alphabet cams should be left in the past.
