Diablo chip or SCT tune?

I'll be getting my car tuned this coming weekend after I get the S-trim on. I'm trying to decide whether to go with a Diablo chip or an SCT reflash. I'm getting the car tuned at Team Ford of Marietta and they can tune with either one.

Here's the thing, I've got a Diablo chip already that I could have reburned and probably save a good bit of money. Or I can pay more and have the tune done with the new SCT stuff. What are the positive and negatives of each? I've been told that a Diablo chip wouldn't be a true custom tune, whereas the SCT tune would be full custom?

thanks
Mark

You'll never have contact problems with a reflash, but reverting to stock is not as easy as just pulling a chip. I went flash cause I absolutely don't want contact problems and don't forsee ever reverting to stock.

SCT can flash or do a chip. Maybe Team Ford chooses not to use SCT chips??

The chips themselves aren't really that expensive. (Doesn't mean you can't charge a lot anyhow) The tuners skill and experience is what you're mostly paying for either way.

At last years tuneathon I saw a suprising number of Diablo chips thrown in the trash can because they just didn't work (wouldn't program), right out of the factory packaging!

Jerry, CJ and Nev will definitely do an awesome job with your tune.

Both platforms are great. Diablo sport and SCT are 4bank chips, thus they both access the same parameters. Ultimately, it comes down to the tuner and how much experience he has with the software..........:D

SCT is by far the best.
Funny how things change. Just a couple of years ago, they were called "Stupidchips" and were being trashed all over the place. Back then, Autologic was it. Then Diablo came into prominence. Now it's like SCT is the end all to be all, Diablo is out, and who the hell is Autologic now that Chris Johnson left for Stupidchips.

It's all in the tuner. The chip or flash tuner is just another peice of hardware. What gets done with that hardware is the important thing. For example, Honda makes a good car, but slap some 6" tall stickers, fart can exhaust and an enormous wing on it and you've got a piece of crap. As I've said time and again, "There is no reality. There is only perception."
