Hey all, I know the season is about over but the cars should run great with these temps (below 90 degrees!!) I used to go to the Berlin Tunpike a few years ago, but I've heard the cops are really cracking down there. Where is everyone going for a little street fun?

I live about 2 mins from the Pike!!! It sucks now, and I haven't been up since the begining of summer. There is a cruise every 2nd and 4th Saturday at the Wallmart in Wallingford, and I went to the Mustangs Unlimited show (I got 3rd in my class!). There were some guys here we met at a show in Milford that wanted to move the show to a Friday at Hooters on the Pike!!! I don't know if they ever got ahold of the owner, but it would be nice to be 10 mins from home!!!

Are you talking about from the last Hooters meet in Milford?

Ya the Hooters in Milford. I was there with my dad because I was getting the T-5 swap done, and we were about 1/2 way done at that point!!! It would be nice to have one at Hooters on the the Turnpike, it is much easier than the 50 minute drive to Milford!

Well sure is nice to know. I was the one aranging these events and kissing the managers asses so that we can have these. I'm currently talking with them to make it a 2 or 3 time a year event, with raffles and some other good ideas a few of us have thought of.

Why, because there were none. First one was a huge hit, so I did another witch was ruined by bad weather. I plan to keep having them and yes were thinking of having them at the Pike. Though most people would rather avoid the Pike nowadays.

It just pisses me off that no one else did any of the "leg work" and now come to find out people that went would like to take it into their own hands and hold them on different days when they had nothing to do with it in the first place.

Had a good time at the first get together, haven't heard of any of the conflict you refered to. I agree the Pike sucks its a shame that the politicians and the police couldn't come up with a better solution than their hard nose, ticket everyone tactic. I agree that some of the drivers were getting out of hand, but to give out tickets for failure to display front marker plate or non-factory lighting is just a harrassment tactic. The only reason that the state required the front plate is so laser's have a perfect target to catch speeders.
Maybe you can put something together in Cromwell, Meriden or Wallingford. Let me know if you think it would work. I'll give you a hand if you like.

ThreePonyStable, I here ya about the pike.

The only thing that pisses me off is that in 2 years of reading the boards hardly ever do I see a big CT get together. Then someone takes the initiative to put one together and there are a few who want to do it on there own.

I could care less if I get credit for it or not, it's just if I call them and plan it with Hooters then these people go and do it on the same day at the other Hooter turn out will be low at both.

Granted I know some people don't want to drive to Milford but some of us don't want to drive to the Pike either let alone deal with all of it's troubles.

Anyways, you were the guy handing out the flyers for MHRA correct? If so Pm me with a little bit of how I can get involved racing with you guys. I'd definatly be interested next year esp since there on the weekends since I work nights.

I know Paul, Pink Malibu, had a great time when he went up there and you guys were there.

FMARTINEZ- Try this link. It is a club here in SE CT. Not a whole lot of racing going on but we do meet regularly. I am trying to talk others in the club to attend track/race events and participate in that along with the meets, cruises, and shows they already do. Check the events calender, there may be something there for you to try out.
