Exactly why I wouldnt have those type of hood pins. As Boostup89 said, to fix it right is a lot of work. You really need a donor car to cut a good cowl panel from to fix it right

 

Thats a $2000+ dollar fix, ask me how I know

That is the only way I'll do it, the right way...I'm going to purchase today. I look forward to posting updates when I get rolling. The engine is a 347 eagle rotating assembly with forged internals, TF heads, custom grind cam matched for this setup in front of a TKO, and has a lot of suspension upgrades, full weld in frame rails and jacking rails. I haven't driven one in a few years since I sold my 85, this one would smoke my 85. I look forward to posting updates as progress is made. To do that job right, you'll need to pull the fenders off, windshield out, pull the dash out, strip the firewall, pull out the wiper arm assembly, cut out the spot welds, then re assemble.

 

This should give you an idea on the extend of the work to replace the cowl. If you are DIY, it would be a project. If you are paying someone, you might have a problem finding a shop to actually do it, as it's a big job and a lot of typical body shops just want to deal with insurance company repairs, vs restoration type work.

Not the right way to fix it but.. with these panels and a lift off hood (my hinges worked with some clearancing , so I didn’t need the lift off) it will work. A cheaper way to go.

Hey I appreciate you getting back to me, the dick selling the car stood me up and is ghosting me even after we agreed to a price and time to pick it up and he never showed up! Guess it was God's way of saying its not the right car for you.

You know what, I think you’re 100% correct on that. I found a 93 LX just the way I want it except for wheels. It’s more than I wants to spend but, by the time I build one the way I want it… I’ll be way over what I’m paying.
